Picnic at Hanging Rock Film Review

Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) Film Review

  1. Hey Steve - another concise, precise review - just a stylistic note though, I'd like you to try to integrate your quotes more into the flow of your argument; so for example: The film centres on ideas of innocence, as V(xxx?) Canby observes "Quote". And then, after the quote, reflect on the content of the quote, so as Canby mentions the opening of the film as particularly 'about' the innocence of the characters, follow the quote with an observation of your own focusing on a scene or moment from opening of the film that further supports Canby's view. I'm not suggesting you rewrite this review, I'm just using this one as an example - but the next phase in terms of sophistication in terms of developing your academic writing is to properly embed your evidence by first introducing its author and then reflecting/using the evidence to enrich and advance your discussion.
