Adaptation: Combined Proof of Concept Pre-Vis

Combined Proof of Concept Pre-Vis

This is the quick Proof of Concept Pre-Vis I've put together for tomorrow's Interim Crit. It seems to have worked out ok, although it feels fairly gratuitous and self indulgent in too many places. I'm doubting whether or not the small visual motifs between the animated segments are contributing to the overall message of the video. It feels as though they're more of a distraction than a compelling, contributing factor. I'll find out whether thats a shared opinion or not tomorrow.

Adaptation: Complete Kitchen Pre-Vis

Complete Kitchen Pre-Vis

This is the Pre-Vis for the Kitchen scene. Its not the clearest Pre-Vis in the world, but its more or less there. If all goes well tomorrow, I plan to cut it together with a small Pre-Vis of the two-dimensional After Effects animation, to provide a slightly clearer picture of how I'm planning to cut the video together (I may also throw in some parts of the Pre-Vis I created using relevant video footage, although that may be overkill, as it doesn't make a huge amount of sense as it is... I guess I'll see how it pans out).

Adaptation: Pre-Vis- Shot_01 Playblast

Pre-Vis- Shot_01 Playblast

This is the first shot of the Pre-Vis for the kitchen environment. Its incredibly robotic, but you get the idea. I'm using the Eleven Rig from 11 Second Club, as I needed a rigged character with a lot more hand dexterity than the standard Pre-Vis characters I've used in the past.

Adaptation: Stock Footage Pre-Vis Progress

Stock Footage Pre-Vis Progress

When speaking to Phil on monday, he suggested I create a pre-vis of existing footage, mish-mashed together to loosely project the tone of my video and hopefully get the ball rolling a bit more. I gathered a bunch of clips and still images, repeated them over and cut them loosely in time with the rhythm of the song to see what I got. I've only uploaded a minute of the footage, but I will update it when the rest of the footage is in place.

I'm not sure whether it was a particularly successful experiment or not as of yet, but its getting somewhere. Feedback is greatly appreciated, as always.

Commission: Pre-Viz Progress- No Sound

This is the stage at which my Pre-Viz/Animatic is currently at. I've got a couple of shots to playblast and then its just a case of tidying it up and adding sound. For the moment, the narration will be provided by myself, but I will decide on a professional voice over artist soon.

Commision: A Couple of Pre-Viz Playblasts

Here are a couple of playblasts for the Pre-Viz of my animation. Originally I was going to use some traditional, sweeping camera shots that are fairly typical of fifties animation, although I've attempted some slightly more dynamic and contemporary camera work in these playblasts. In regards to the fifties space-age aesthetic, I'm not too sure whether I should use these dynamic shots or not, as they may not gel comfortably with the overall style I'm taking influence from.
