hey simon, i'm having a bit of trouble opening maya files created at home on the computers at uni, as my copy of maya is the eduction version. i've tried selecting 'ignore version' when i open the files, but no luck. maya simply stops responding and i have to close it through task manager. is there anything i can do to help this?

It being an education copy shouldn't be a problem... What version are you using? Going 'down' in version number can cause problems... For example trying to open a 2012 maya file in 2011 might cause problems...
